Guide to Assist in Managing VFC/VFC Vaccine Inventory
Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults Program participants can find instructions on how to maintain their vaccine inventory. Bivalent mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines Are No Longer Authorized
The bivalent Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized for use in the United States. To minimize the risk of vaccine administration errors, providers should:Remove all bivalent mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from storage units immediately, even if they are not expired.Once all inventory is fully accounted for, adjust bivalent mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from the available vaccine inventory in Florida SHOTS as wastage. Follow the instructions on how to complete adjustments. The instructions are also available in Spanish.Dispose of all bivalent mRNA COVID-19 vaccine vials in accordance with current regulations.
COVID-19 Vaccines for 2023-2024
Ordering is now open for the 2023-2024 formula of the COVID-19 vaccine. Enrolled Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Vaccines for Adults (VFA) providers can find the available vaccines on their regular VFC and VFA order request page in Florida SHOTS. COVID-19 vaccines are no longer ordered separately from other vaccines funded by VFC or VFA.
LIVE Webinar: Managing Expired/Wasted VFC Vaccines
Expired and wasted Vaccines for Children (VFC) vaccines need to be manually removed from your inventory and reported within Florida SHOTS. During this webinar, we will demonstrate how to complete inventory adjustment, report and request shipping label. Florida SHOTS Reminder/Recall
The Reminder/Recall within Florida SHOTS helps you identify those patients who are due or overdue for all or specific vaccines and print mailing labels. This is a perfect tool to try to get your pediatric and adolescent patients before the back-to-school rush. You can access the step-by-step instructions on how to generate HERE. Also available in Spanish.
VFC/VFA Flu Vaccine
Vaccines for Children/Vaccine for Adult providers may now place orders for flu vaccines within Florida SHOTS.
LIVE Webinar: Reports Overview
During this webinar we will review how to generate several useful reports within Florida SHOTS. These include the Reminder/Recall tool for increasing vaccine coverage among your patients, the Vaccine Utilization Report which shows vaccines administered within a specified date range, and the Shots Recorded report that provides vaccinations recorded corresponding to the specified VFC PIN/site.
