Keeping the System Safe and Secure Annual User Confirmation To increase security and only allow authorized users to access Florida SHOTS, Local Organization Administrators (LOAs) will need to confirm users within their organization each year. Seven days prior to the user confirmation period starting, an alert will be displayed when the LOA logs in to Florida SHOTS and the LOAs will also receive an email notification the day before. LOAs will have a 90-day period to complete the confirmation within Florida SHOTS. Users that are not confirmed will no longer have access to Florida SHOTS. Learn More! See all Resources The Florida SHOTS information system is located on a secure server with password-restricted access. We use the latest encryption and firewall safeguards. All accounts are given access to the system only after we have verified that they have appropriate licensing in the state of Florida. Protected & Secure Did You Know? Many patients may have missed medical appointments, well-visits, and immunizations – increasing their risk for illness if they are exposed to a vaccine-preventable disease. Reminder/Recall tools can help providers identify patients who are due for or have missed immunization opportunities. Tech Tips Having incorrect or outdated CVX, MVX and VIS codes in your electronic health record's (EHR’s) immunization table can result in vaccine messages getting rejected and not transferring to patient records. Make sure to regularly review and update to ensure you have the correct codes. Providers Authorized to certify the Form DH 680
Healthcare providers can create a certified Certificate of Immunization (DH Form 680) in Florida SHOTS. The form is legal and valid in the state of Florida for admittance to schools and daycare facilities. The algorithms set to complete the form are in accordance with the Florida statutes which determine who can certify each part of the Form 680 based on the medical license defined under in the statutes themselves.
