  • Florida SHOTS Live Webinar: Florida SHOTS Reports

During this month’s live webinar sessions, we will demonstrate how to create, view, and print several helpful reports in Florida SHOTS. These include the Reminder Recall for increasing vaccine coverage among your pediatric and adolescent patients, Patient Status Report that lists all patients who have your organization as the Current Immunization Provider (CIP), and Vaccine Utilization Report, which shows vaccines administered within a specified date range.

  • VFC Shipping Flu Vaccines

The VFC Program has updated the flu pre-book ordering status to limited. * This means that providers who pre-booked may place their own flu vaccine orders not to exceed their pre-book amount. Flu vaccine doses will need to be requested through Florida SHOTS by using the Order Requests page. It is anticipated more vaccine will become available soon so those providers who did not pre-book may request flu vaccines.

*Please Note: Pre-book is now closed. If you did not pre-book, you may contact the VFC Program at [email protected] to request doses be placed in pre-book for you. Please include your VFC PIN.

  • Vaccine Table Ensures Accurate Data

Unsure of which flu vaccine to enter into Florida SHOTS? Check out our “Vaccine Type Table” guide in both English or Spanish. This table helps you select the correct vaccine type when entering vaccines into your patient records. You can also link directly to the table from the “Vaccination” menu while you are adding vaccines.

  • Protect Patients Against Hepatitis A

Since 2018, there have been more than 22,000 cases of hepatitis A in the U.S. and more than 2,500 cases in Florida. On November 28, 2018, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) issued a hepatitis A health advisory emphasizing awareness and prevention through vaccination. Make sure to check the Florida SHOTS Immunization Status page to ensure your patients are up-to-date with all ACIP required and recommended vaccines!

  • Florida SHOTS Live Webinar: VFC Tips

We understand that users may have questions about specific Vaccines for Children (VFC) functions within Florida SHOTS. During this webinar, we will review how to add/edit calibration certificates to your vaccine storage units, provide tips for VFC ordering, and generate the “Aging Vaccine Report” to identify vaccines that have expired or about to expire.

  • Avoid Duplicate Records

From time to time, you may come across duplicate patient records in Florida SHOTS. Did you know that are a few things that you can do to prevent them from being created in the first place? Remember the 3 Cs for patient records: Complete. Correct. Current.

Providing full names and up-to-date addresses and completing as many fields as possible allows Florida SHOTS to cross-reference the information and add updates to existing records.  Also remember to click on “Release Patient Record” when you’re done to prevent locked records and uploading errors.

  • Resources for Parents

Did you know that Florida SHOTS has information and tools specifically for parents and guardians? You can refer parents and guardians to our Parents & Guardians page where they can:

    • Download certification of immunization (DH Form 680)
    • Learn about required shots for school/childcare
    • Find the nearest participating healthcare provider location
    • Get answers to FAQs, and more!
  • Florida SHOTS Training Resources

Florida SHOTS users have several training resources available, whether you are new to using the system or just need a refresher. You can join one of our monthly “New User and Refresher Overview” trainings or access any of our online resources. These include recorded webinars, step-by step guides, and a training system which is a functional copy of the system to practice using the different features.
