Did you know that having incorrect or outdated CVX, MVX and VIS codes in your EHR’s immunization table can result in vaccine messages getting rejected and not transferring to patient records? Make sure to regularly review and update to ensure you have the correct codes. See here for important links:

1. CVX code table: Immunization codes sent by your EMR to FLSHOTS.

2. MVX code table: Vaccine manufacturers table.

3. Vaccine Information Statements (VIS) dates: These are the most up-to-date CDC patient vaccine information forms.

2022 Holiday Vaccine Shipping and Ordering Schedule

Immunization Section updates for Vaccines for Children/Vaccines for Adults (VFC/VFA) providers. It does not apply to COVID-19 vaccine shipments.

  • All providers can now place orders for flu vaccine using Florida SHOTS.
  • Holiday Vaccine Shipping and Ordering:
  • Orders placed after Friday, December 9th may not be shipped prior to January 3, 2023.
  • Vaccines will be shipped up to December 20th. Shipping will occur on December 27th and 28th.
  • Vaccines will not be shipped from December 29th through January 2, 2023. Regular vaccine shipments will resume on January 3, 2023.

As of October 8, 2022, new Florida SHOTS passwords must have the following parameters:

  • Must be 10 to 30 characters long
  • Must contain at least 1 lower-case, 1 upper-case, 1 number and 1 special character
  • Cannot contain common password words such as “password”, “admin”, “12345”, etc
  • Cannot contain more than 4 of the same repeating characters
  • Cannot contain your system user ID
  • Cannot be any of the previous 3 password used or any password used in the last 90 days

Users will need to use new requirements when the system prompts them to update their password.

Stay up to date on COVID-19 vaccine information available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website. You can review each of the COVID-19 vaccines including administration, storage and handling, and Emergency Use Authorization fact sheets for recipients.
